Bidaia prestatzen — preparing the trip (applied future tense)

A trip is enjoyed twice: when you live it and when you plan it. This lesson is pure applied future tense: the plan, the list, and the suitcase — with everything you learned in unit 06 really at work.

The plan’s decisions

Nora joango gara? — Where will we go?

Noiz aterako gara eta noiz itzuliko gara? — When will we leave and when will we return?

Non lo egingo dugu? — Where will we sleep?

Zenbat gastatuko dugu? Aurrekontua! — How much will we spend? The budget!

The order of the plan (connectors + future tense)

Lehenengo helmuga aukeratuko dugu, gero txartelak erosiko ditugu, ondoren hotela erreserbatuko dugu eta azkenik maleta prestatuko dut… bidaia bezperan, beti bezala. 😄

Bainujantzia eta eguzkitako krema sartuko ditut… eta aterkia ere bai. Euskal Herritik nator: badaezpada. — I’ll pack the swimsuit and the sunscreen… and the umbrella too. I come from Euskal Herria: just in case.

Badaezpada = just in case. A national survival word.

Preparation verbs

Dena prestatuko dut asteazkenean. — I’ll prepare everything on Wednesday.

Ez dut ezer ahaztuko… espero! — I won’t forget anything… I hope!

Kargagailua hartuko duzu? Iaz ahaztu zenuen. — Will you take the charger? You forgot it last year. (Bam: past + future in the same sentence, A2 level unlocked.)

Dialogue: the long weekend plan

— Aizu, zubian lau egun izango ditugu. Zer egingo dugu?

— Zergatik ez gara Zuberoara joaten? Landetxe bat erreserbatuko dugu eta mendian ibiliko gara.

— Ondo iruditzen zait! Nik txartelak eta ibilbideak begiratuko ditut gaur gauean.

— Eta nik maletak prestatuko ditut. Aterkia sartuko dut, badaezpada.

— Noski. Euria egingo du, seguru. 😄
