Talking about lifestyle and the environment is a classic A2 block: it mixes new vocabulary with phrases of obligation and advice (behar dugu, komeni da, garrantzitsua da) that you’ve known since A1.

Healthy habits

Useful phrases for giving opinions

• Garrantzitsua da birziklatzea. — It’s important to recycle.
• Komeni da kirola egitea. — It’s a good idea to do sports.
• Beharrezkoa da kutsadura gutxitzea. — It’s necessary to reduce pollution.
• Ez dut uste plastikoa ona denik. — I don’t think plastic is good.

These structures (-tzea + adjective + da) are the A2 formula for “it’s important / a good idea / necessary to do X”. We will work on them in depth in unit 4.

Cultural note: the auzo-elkarteak (neighborhood associations) are a fundamental part of social life in many towns in Euskal Herria. They organize parties, Basque workshops, mountain outings, and environmental campaigns. Participating is one of the best ways to practice the language in real use.
