Nire etxea — Describing your own home
This lesson brings together everything from topic 9: the rooms, the furniture, the chores, and who you live with. The goal is for you to be able to describe your house in simple sentences, as if you were being asked in class or in a casual conversation.

Remember the NOLAKOA da? pattern already seen in other units: the answer takes the adjective + final
-a+ the verb izan. E.g.: Nire etxea handia da. — My house is big.
A model paragraph
Here is a simple text describing a house. Read it out loud and pay attention to the patterns.
Ni Iruñean bizi naiz, auzo lasai batean. Nire etxea ez da oso handia: hiru gela ditu — bi logela eta egongela bat — sukaldea eta komuna. Egongela argitsua da, eta balkoi bat dauka. Hirugarren solairuan dago, eta etxeak igogailua du.
Bikotekidearekin bizi naiz. Berak bazkaria prestatzen du, eta nik ontziak garbitzen ditut. Asteburuetan biok elkarrekin egiten dugu erosketa.

- Zenbat gela ditu? (How many rooms?) → Bi / Hiru / Lau gela ditu.
- Zer dago etxean? (What is there?) → Sukaldea, egongela, bi logela eta komun bat ditu.
- Norekin bizi zara? → Bakarrik / Gurasoekin / Lagunekin bizi naiz.
- Etxeko lanak nork egiten ditu? → Nik egunero garbitzen dut / Pisukideen artean banatzen ditugu.

Tip: when you talk about your house in class, don’t try to translate every detail. Stick to short, well-made sentences. “Bi logela ditut, sukalde txiki bat eta egongela handia” is a better description than a long sentence full of mistakes.
